Re: Video Slave - Sync to PT

The PC equivalent to Video Slave is ChainGang:http://www.humatic.de/htools/chaingang.htm
(which was cross platform for a few years but is strictly Windows now).

Re: Premiere AAF & OMF Stability & Bugs Advise for ProTools Mixers

Actually with the current versions OMF/AAF export seems to have gotten reasonably stable (at least from Premier 6.0.2 to PT9 here). Some gotchas to watch out for...

Re: How to set my Loudness Meter....

I've been using the Nugen for a year or so now. I checked it against the DMM (in LKFS/1770) quite heavily when I got it and found the long term always agreed within .5 of a DB (which I chalk up to...

Re: Mixed framerate media export to OMF/AAF

The only downstream solution we found in this scenario was option b). Fortunately because of the way the framerate change ended up happening (during Automatic Duck import from FCP to AVID), there...

Re: Final Cut X now available, plus Compressor 4, Motion 5

FCP X is a "beta" without the name. iMovie Pro is not a bad description - at this point FCP X more replaces FC Express than FC Studio. To the point that Apple even offers a help file on keeping your...

Re: DVCPROHD 720p50 problem

Hi Joe,

Good to know about the new driver... we have a few of them on Video Edit suites around here, so I'll let the techs at that end know.

Thanks

Re: DVCPROHD 720p50 problem

Hi Joe,

Not sure which LH you've got, but the LH/LHe specs say it doesn't actually DO 720p50... only 720p25.

The LHi does... don't know if that's what you've got.

Re: A big Public thank you to Atomic Audio

Thanks Mike... Glad we were able to sort it all out.

Re: FCP "bug" to watch out for...

Sebsky just "stamps" the resulting Quicktime file with a frame rate, so FCP doesn't try and adjust. I don't think it was ever meant to deal with 5.1 audio... You'd probably have to make 6 different...

Re: FCP "bug" to watch out for...

Hi There...

It's an FCP issue, and you are correct... it's not related SPECIFICALLY to 24fps... it's related to integer (24/25) versus non-integer (23.976/29.97) frame rates. The solution in every...

Re: FCP bugs, etc.

The "freakout" you were referring to in my original post is very specific and has to do ONLY with a TRUE 24FPS timeline (24.000 fps NOT 23.976) with 29.97 or 23.976 capture settings. It's usually...

Myself, I'm liking the Waves MV2 lately... takes some getting used to but get's me what I want. Still use the C4 a lot on "reality" type shows.

Re: Hollywood Losing the Digital Download Battle

My opinion for what it's worth...

The film industry (and music industry) needs to realize that they are now a SERVICE industry, not a MANUFACTURING industry.

Contrary to popular belief...
