Re: BASIC BOOM Question.. Please Help.

Make sure the volume is up on the send - to do this as a shortcut, hold down the option key and click on the volume slider - it will snap to zero db.

Re: Total I/O Possible with OMNI?

I use mine with an apogee 8 channel rosetta - I almost never need 8 in and outs of analog at one time, so it's not a big deal.

The mic pres sound really, REALLY good, it's such a pleasure to have...

Re: Grace/Amnesty Period for Pro Tools 11 Upgrade

While I agree there should be an amnesty period, I don't know what it should be; there will always be a "new" release.

That doesn't mean you have to have it right away, in fact, it's not desirable...

Re: HD Omni ... Wow!

So far, I'm digging it.

I only wish Avid had found a way to make the monitor outs an additional pair of dedicated outputs (like the cue mix).

Also, 8 in and 8 out of dedicated analog would've...

Re: Are there any rumors about PT11?

I finally "upgraded" from my 10 year-old PT 7.3.1 HD2 Accel rig to a new HD native 10.3 system on a 12-core Mac with an Omni interface, and couldn't be happier.

The new AAX plugins are simply...

Re: Omni causing "Creating DAE object" hang on boot-up

Thanks, I probably wasn't clear in my post, but I'got it working thanks to the workaround I found in the knowledge base.

I haven't run multiple tracks yet as I'm still downloading and configuring...

Omni causing "Creating DAE object" hang on boot-up

After the arduous task of downloading multiple gigs worth of software from Avid's site - after updating Java and waiting all day for PT 10.3 native to download, it wouldn't boot - it would hang...

Re: How do you REALLY DELETE all unused files PLEASE HELP!

Make sure you have "autosave" turned off - that's caught me out a couple of times - the program will insist you're "missing files" and wants to relink them upon reopening.......

It's a pain, I've...

Re: Interesting Shootout

What are you trying to accomplish? Why would you mix out of an AES through the PSX and back in again?

The best way to mix is to set up a mix bus, then route your session through it using whatever...

Audio tracks disappear

Hi folks,

I ran into a strange bug yesterday (for the first time ever) - in the middle of a session, while resizing midi tracks, all my audio and aux tracks disappeared from the edit screen.

I...

Re: Instrument Tracks: What\'s the advantage

I like the instrument track function because I can set up a midi and aux track (the software sets up the aux input) in one step.

If I'm running a multi timbre synth, say the K2600, I can run...

Re: PT 7.3.1 - Still Features Random Graphic Freez

PT HD Accel 2 7.3.1 on a G5 1.6 - 1.5 gigs of ram.

Lots of GUI freezes throughout the workday - most are brief and seems to be GUI only; spacebar works fine, audi plays etc.

Re: 7.2 plus film score = a lot of crashes

Thanks for the reply, but the only additional plugs I have are the full Soundtoys TDM suite - and the latest version at that.

Also, I've upgraded all my digi plugs.

I do think there is a...

Re: 7.2 plus film score = a lot of crashes

Wow, that's a lot of questions, but I'll do my best to summarize.

The score features live piano, voice and cello and a ton of sound design and synth xfx.

I worked with a very talented composer...

7.2 plus film score = a lot of crashes

I just finished the remake of Brian DePalma's 1973 cult classic "Sisters".

It was a very intensive score with many, many tracks, plugs and QT running entire reels, five in all.

I never felt...

Re: 7.2 \"timeout while accessing audio interface\"

7.2 \"timeout while accessing audio interface\"

What gives?

I'm running a relatively small session with some plugs - nothing huge - and while adding some busses to sends to create my stems I get a "timeout while accessing audio interface"...

Re: Who Else Thinks PT Midi is UNBEARABLE?

Ditto, ditto, DITTO!!! Plus one.

Why this hasn't been fixed is a mind-bender. Every major sequencing package pilfered this from Vision by around 2001, yet Digi implements the most awful and...
