Re: Commit always consolidating clips?

The C1 Gate trick is great. Some additional notes:

Some plugins do weird things that don't show up on a meter. For example, inserting a meter after Waves Tune shows -inf. A plugin with...

Auto Spot not working correctly

I tried using Auto Spot and it puts the clip at 1380:00.000. It does this with every clip. I tried it with different sessions. Then I tried with PT 10, 11, 12 (as well as 2018).
If I use manual...

Re: making playlists for selected clips??

I just remembered that there is the "match criteria" window. When set to "All" and no track settings, it seems to lay out all takes into playlists from the selected area (in this case the entire...

making playlists for selected clips??

I'm thinking there might be an easier way to do this...

After recording vocals, or anything source, I wind up having takes at various points in the timeline, aside from the takes that occur at the...

Re: Mbox Pro 3 mic pre standalone mode not working?

There are three selectable standalone modes: AD/DA, Mic Pre. and Mixer.
I think something may be wrong with my unit. Especially considering that all the inserts are sending the signal from all the...

Mbox Pro 3 mic pre standalone mode not working?

I'm trying to get my MBox Pro 3 to work properly in the mic pre standalone mode.
From what I read, it should send the mic pre to the same numbered output. 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc.
Also, the inserts...

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

I'm another PT 12.2 user who has experienced this issue.
I thought it might be my mbox pro 3 interface.
Until I experienced the noise using only the headphone jack on my laptop.

Some other...

Pro Tools First save session?

From what I can tell, there is not a way to save a session. It only syncs to a cloud service. So to save more than a few sessions, either delete sessions (really bad option, who would do that??) or...

Re: Recording Sessions to SD card slot?

I tried running MacOS 10.8.5 with ProTools 11 from a Transcend Jetdrive Lite 128g. Not sure what Class it is, but the specs seemed fine. It's noticeably slower booting up. And it doesn't perform...

Re: how to calibrate with a voltmeter , my 888s

well, this still doesn't really answer the question good enough as I'm not too confident about it.
I've been thinking I can use my Lucid DA convertor as a 0 dBu test tone (using a test tone...

Re: fan noise from 888/24 interface

Update:
The Verax isolation kit ($7) came right away.
It took about a month to finally get the fan (Pabst 614NML). It wasn't really compatible. Didn't seem to blow nearly as much air and it...

Re: fan noise from 888/24 interface

thanks for the response, fellow Portlander!
pretty lonely on this thread.
i've ordered a Pabst fan of similar specs, only much quieter noise ratings.
i've also ordered a Verax mounting kit to...

fan noise from 888/24 interface

D Clementson, I notice you frequent this forum and I know you are familiar (to say the least) with the good 'ol 888. So I'm re-posting here:

I just added one of these to my set-up and it's kind...

fan noise from 888/24 interface

I just added one of these to my set-up and it's kind of noisy. Light steady resonating vibration. Sort of like the neighbor mowing the lawn across the street.
I'm wondering if the fan is going...

I\'ve figured it out!

Standalone Digidesign CoreAudio Driver v6.9.2cs2

This one will recognize my 882/20 (and probably others) using Tiger.
I've tested playback and record and it works fine!

BTW, here's that quote...

Re: the bold red link at the top of the PAGE

Yes i've scoured through the compat docs trying to find any clues as to whether it is possible to have a Core Audio Driver running on Tiger that will recognize my MIX hardware. It seems as though it...

Re: Question for OS 9 G4 Mix users

The 2002 Quicksilver has 4 slots. http://www.lowendmac.com/ppc/gigag4.html

Now I'm really thinking hard about the expansion chassis. Having the cards external plus freeing up some more slots......

Re: Question for OS 9 G4 Mix users

That's a great idea! I didn't realize how cheap the expansion chasis are now on eBay.
The cards indeed cause a great deal of the heat as they're loaded with processors. Still a little weary as...

Re: Question for OS 9 G4 Mix users

i put my G4 in...

Re: 888 24 hardware question

i believe you can download a driver type program (DigiCore?) for OS X that should do this for you without having to install PT.
should be somewhere in the support / downloads section... you'll have...

Re: Question for OS 9 G4 Mix users

still won't be as quiet (and cool) as the Quicksilver (as far as I've heard...). it's more of an overall design problem than simply a noisy fan issue.
