Re: Loading Sessions with Missing Plugins

Perhaps the only other option left that hasn't been suggested (although probably obvious) is to get an external UAD Satellite box for your laptop rig.

Re: What in the...?!?! (missing audio files)

Did you have another drive connected when you were working on the song last time?

If you do what DetroitT suggests, PT will show you what drive and folder the files should be on.

Re: Recording room, control room scenario

Yes, digital audio networking would work great for recording in this scenario. I would also suggest that you run 2 Cat 6 cables if you can while you are at it. That would give you more options later...

Re: Any possible way for Accel systems to be recognized by Yosemite 10.10.5?

Not that I know of, but it will unofficially work on OS 10.9 if that helps you at all.

Re: Some audio is not muted but acts muted

Try removing and/or deactivating the plug-ins on the track with the issue. Sometimes deactivating and reactivating the track will fix this issue too.

Re: Mac Audio AND ProTools thru HDX at the same time

Another workaround option is to physically connect the audio out from the Mac (preferably via digital optical or use an external A/D convertor) to inputs on the 192 and assign those inputs to an aux...

Re: Been a year or so since I opened ProTools 11...

You need to open iLok manager app, log in to your account, and synchronize the iLok while your iLok is plugged in to the computer. Should work fine after that. You might also need to update iLok...

Re: How do I convert multi-mono files to interleaved while preserving edits?

You could duplicate the playlists for all tracks you need to do this with, and then consolidate the files only on the duplicated playlists, then export as interleaved. That way you will still have...

Re: Stop button lighted, play button blinking not playing

I had the same issue on a large HDX system in PTHD 12, but only upon the first session opened after launching Pro Tools. Temporary workaround was to change the H/W buffer size to any other value...

Re: Trying to fix 20 seconds of flawed audio

It may be difficult, if not impossible, to repair that issue.

How was it recorded, if not using Pro Tools? What was the original audio file format?

Try to access the original file, not a copy,...

Re: Using Playlists for session comping.

If you us the method I describe in my post above, you can line up all the songs to start at the same point on separate tracks instead of playlists. That way editing should be a lot easier. Since...

Re: Using Playlists for session comping.

You didn't mention if these were stereo or multitrack recordings. I will assume they are multitrack.

Making playlists with grouped tracks after they were recorded can create a lot of potential...

Re: Auto Tune 8

Auto Tune will always cause some slight variations in the timing. You can correct these by visually lining up a processed track and the original by editing and sliding regions, but it will be...

Re: What Mac computer to record 64 channels?

Yes, the current iMacs can be upgraded with additional RAM. It is easy on the 27" models but very difficult on the 21.5" models.

Re: What Mac computer to record 64 channels?

Sorry if I am stating what might be obvious and also not directly answering your question, but you can never to get to 100% foolproof - however, you can reduce your chances of having problems greatly...

Re: External Drive Advice

I recommend getting a 7200 RPM USB3 drive and trying that first. They are relatively cheap, and if it isn't quite fast enough, you can still use it for a pretty fast backup drive, and then try the...

Re: Ug, CPU overload on two-track recording a concert

This may not help with finding the cause of the error and maybe this is obvious, but for live recording, it is always recommended to record to two separate and independent devices, mostly due to...

Re: Help with academic project

You could also use the trimmer tool in TCE mode so that you can match the length of a clip to the other clip. There may be some relative drifting and flanging among the two clips in the middle of...

Re: Good night, Pro Tools!

When Waves first announced WUP, there was a huge price increase if you let your WUP plan elapse. Widespread customer outrage (lots of it expressed here on the DUC) caused them to change WUP to the...

Re: Best way to print/export tracks for an entire session

Make sure delay compensation is turned on.

Also, be aware that many (if not most) mixers prefer that you don't commit all the plug ins to the audio files so that they can choose their own...

Re: Universal Audio TDM Plugs and 8.01

It looks like you have the latest version, but just hit "Get info" on the plug itself to double check. Yes, it's PowerPC. And I am pretty sure the latest version did work up until PT no longer...
