I wouldnt think Parrallels would be a good option as you would then essentially be running 2 OS's chewing up valuable resources that PTLE will need. PTLE is problematic enough to get running on one...

WKG I did the same as you - Standard PC on one partition and ACPI on the other. I'm on an eMachines M6811 - and I have the same great results as you! Looks like I can say goodbye to those annoying...

I dont know... I flogged the original 4200 harddrive on ebay for $100 and seem to surviving fine with the stock 512 memory for a net cost of only $1100.

yep thats it, just tested out with second monitor and works like a champ. you will want to upgrade the harddrive as it comes with only a 4200 drive. drives run a few hundred, check the web for deals....
