No progress since yesterday. I will try your suggestions, and go through it again, thanks.

Re: 10.3.2 won't extract

Thanks for your reply, Dave. I found the PT installer within a PT folder, expanded, but when I run it, it can't complete. A message I get in the middle of the install process states I did not run the...

10.3.2 won't extract

I recently installed 10 on my Dell N4010/8gb ram/Win 7, and decided to update to 10.3.2. My 10 install was from the DVD. I downloaded the update as a full install from Avid. It won't expand.

Did...

Re: Upgrade question

To the OP, I had 10 running on my Mac laptop fine until I decided to install 10.3.2. Not working, 6101 error, what you read when you Google the issue. So I did the clean uninstall and trashed prefs,...

Re: Returning Guy Needs Metering/Plug-in Direction

That is extremely helpful, Postman. I also found this thread helpful:

Re: Returning Guy Needs Metering/Plug-in Direction

Postman,
Thanks for your reply.
I've been away from post for quite a while. In that last thread, one or two years ago, in which I said I was about to begin a mix, I actually did some editing only. ...

Returning Guy Needs Metering/Plug-in Direction

I've been away from post and I need advice about loudness metering and processing as well as encoding for 5.1. I am currently reading the room calibration sticky and various loudness threads.

Re: Export from FCP

Just getting back to this believe it or not.

Regarding the last 2 posts, I have only done films, receiving telecine in reels which I would capture. The editing and mixes were done in the normal...

Re: Export from FCP

Thank you.
Are there any time code issues with FCP I may not be aware of since I have been away from post for a few years? For example, is 2997 drop (or non drop) time code in FCP really that? I...

Re: Export from FCP

Thank you Mike, I will try that.

Let's say the editor is making a festival cut, not broken down to proper reel lengths. Just one reel to output to video for screenings. Will this method of...

I mean post insert, pre fader.
Pre fader, the way our system is operating now, you read channel level at input, of course before the fader. I want to be able to read channel level after the...

DSP SHORTFALL!

Re: Beyond Max Session Length

Yes, it's a 24/96 session on an HD +3 process rig. I was thinking that maybe a corrupted file makes Pro Tools think a particular sound file is longer than it actually is. If you have any other info...
