Re: Mac Pro 8-core or 12-Core

It's always a crap shoot until it's sanctioned / qualified by Avid.

Thus, I would recommend holding off until it is officially sanctioned.

Truth be told, it WILL be sanctioned, but the exact...

Re: QT friendly formats in PT?

Seems my first choice - NexGuard - by CIVOLUTION - (dongle based authentication for decode of any media file) has shelved the product, including selling or future development. Which leaves me back...

Re: QT friendly formats in PT?

This raises lots of questions, I'll contact my Sorenson Media Rep. I was looking into Wildvine and Civolution, as well. Thanks Doug!

QT friendly formats in PT?

Looking to bend the rules a little bit, wanted to see if anyone out there had some feedback.

While PT is open to QT for playback, has anyone had any form of success with non native QT files...

Re: Recieving OMF and EDL From FCP w/TC

Resurrecting this thread.

For my tech blog, I decided to flush out my list of deliverables (with explanations) when working with an FCP editor.

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

Elicious:

What you said works perfectly. I also wanted to try Werners approach - his is what I could not get to work. Thanks so much for your input!

(now it's time to track down some more DRP...

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

Elicious...

Here are some screen grabs, before and after.

Session with Rehab, check out the snares and kick on the left hand side, delays in orange, Delay Compensation obviously on.

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

Werner, perhaps I'm missing something - nothing turned blue. Can you explain the steps a bit more in case I've missed something?

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

Yes, one instance of rehab per track.

The 2 tracks were recorded at the same time, and the toms were hit simultaneously, which is how I could tell the rehab had the latency - the triggers were not...

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

I'll be attempting this late tonight or midday tomorrow, then I can report back.

Recorded a set of Toms, came out horrible, attempting to "rehab" both tracks at the same time. Each recording has...

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

I have the TLL as a plugin on my track which is a WAV file. The audio track with the WAV file is triggering the TLL which has the DRP files loaded.

I'll attempt the things you've...

Re: Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

Thanks for the reply.

As for plugs, I seem to have the issue whether it's the first plug, last plug, or only plug - that is part of the situation that puzzles me. Zero latency, on the TL Drum...

Unable to combat latency...what could I be missing?

PT|HD, 7.4.2cs1, HD3, 8 core Mac, 4 GB RAM, D-Command, all media on secondary internal HDD.

I'm finding that using the TL Space Drum Rehab plug causes varying degrees of latency. This is, of...

Re: Why 29.97 deliverables in a 23.98 world?

Thats a good thought, but if the client in onlining, the audio house isn't the last step anyway - the resulting bounces are shuttled back to the online weapon of choice (DS, Scratch, etc) which would...

Why 29.97 deliverables to Post Sound in a 23.98 world?

For years, I've always requested a 29.97 TC window burn along with a QT of whatever film I'm working on. Now that I've relocated to Hollywood, I've been asked by a pix editor "why", even though it...

Re: Documentaries

Maybe the stars have aligned, but I've had 3 people in the past 8 months tell me they want their doc edited and mixed like "Fog of War". Good doc, and a unique sound design.

Re: wjat does this mean?

I presume 5 seconds of tone between each script...to make it easy to find the script breaks while fast forwarding / scanning through the audio file.

Re: Mojo & Firewire

As an FYI, 10.5.5 release notes do not mention anything about the reported firewire "fixes", contrary to what I alluded to in an earlier post.

Here's to hoping I missed something *crosses fingers*...

Re: Mojo & Firewire

I stick by the info about Avid Mojo/Mojo SDI/Adrenaline not working under 10.5.x with Avid Software, and that possibly being your issue.

However, on the other hand....

Digi's site has a ton of...

Re: Video Playback Alternative (Yet Again)

All good concerns, postman!

What set Video Satellite apart was that it can open an existing Avid sequence and play in back in realtime off Unity, then be chased and play out the picture. If not...
