Re: PT 12.5 and macOS Catalina

Good catch.

I read that as PT 2019.5 as opposed to PT 12.5.

Re: PT 12.5 and macOS Catalina

Re: Upgrade 6 core Mac Pro to 12 core, or sell Mac Pro for 8 core iMac Pro?

Pros and cons on both sides.

Do you need TB? Do you need PCIE slots? Are you OK with having a computer within ear distance? Etc etc.

The iMac will be more powerful and benefits from modern...

Re: how to change time signatures?

You bumped a thread from 9 years ago to complain but haven’t added any useful info yourself.

Pointing someone to the reference manual is actually helpful as they’ll find more accurate information...

Saving a chain of plugins?

No need for the workaround. It was added as a feature in PT2018.

EDIT: Just realised the OP is on PT10. The workaround is the only way to do it on that version.

Re: Horrible VI performance when recording in 2019.10!

Exactly.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this, but it’s the same response from the same people.

Put a pair of headphones on, plug mic in, set buffer to 64 samples, record arm track, talk...

MIDI Question

There is, even if you’re not aware of it. The overlap could be 2 samples long, but it exists.

You can get that with MIDI clips, which is what yours are, by duplicating them along the timeline....

Re: Horrible VI performance when recording in 2019.10!

In ears or wedges? If the latter, of course they won’t complain.

It bugs the crap out of me when people say 256 is acceptable. Find me one VO person who finds that acceptable. Decades of...

Re: Pro Tools in virtual machine

Yeah I wouldn’t do that. Pro Tools is a PITA on a well configured system. I can only imagine it being a bag of hurt in a VM.

I take it you don’t have a backup/clone of your system?

If not, I’d...

Re: Pro tools 11 won't start after updating to Windows 10

Fair enough.

I thought perhaps that was your issue, but if you can get it to run, more power to you.

Fingers crossed.

You seem to have overlooked the fact your version of Pro Tools is unsupported on your OS version.

Re: Does anyone else have issues with codemeter on OS X?

I have a Codemeter dongle for Reason and have never had any issues with it.

Re: Anyone know the exact path to delete temp files that PT puts in the drive?

A clean OS install won take up more than about 20GB. Add another 10GB for those two apps and plugins. I’ve got working drives that take up about 40GB total, assuming libraries etc. are on ext....

But yeah, it’s worth looking at every possibility for sure.

Just a follow up on your Log file query.

I just went to and looked at the size of the AVID folder in User/Library/Logs/Avid and mine is 391 MB. That's megabyte, not gigabyte. Not a...

Silly question, but...
