Well i think it has to do with memory timing and speed of ram. I did read the mobo manule and for my ram it said use the 2 yellow slots, of corse this didnt work!
The black slots do, and its fast...

Hey guys.. i changed psu to 400 watt alaksa one.. kept the ram in the secondary slots

im now running pt8 and trying to make it crash...

Eerrrrm.. interesting..

I have been useing banks A1 and B1.. which are yellow.. changed it to the black slots.. and 20 mins into the test with no errors!!!!!!!!!

Yup they are indeed! matched pair..

i have a jentech 400W powersupply.. im begining to point my finger at that as i shouldnt be getting errors with the 3rd ram chip im testing!

Ok i have memtest running now.. installed it on floppy.. and it just booted up and started doing its thing!! will leave it running for a few hours..

hey there, nope 2 seperate drives.... 1 x 250gig seagate, 1 x 500 gig segate.72000 rpm 8.9 ms seak time

it was also crashing in the same way when i just used 1 x 250 gig seagate, i was advised to...

Ok, Just to let you know..
I FIXED IT!!!! AND I LOVE PROTOOLS 8!!!

If any of you guys are having freezing and restarting issues, check your memory positions..

i switched the slots...

in a weird way im glad im not the only one with this issue! if my system was rock solid i wouldnt realy complain.. but the fact that im still getting random freezes is making me...

Ive heard OCZ mentioned a few times here, thats why i picked it.. i only have 2 HD's CPU MOBO a basic Graphix card and a 002R.. no external HD.

its a fairly old powersupply but a good quality one.. and will be happy to upgrade it if it is the root of evil!.. ill check on the amps...

Arr well.. im suffering from freezing and restarts..
