Re: Pro Tools freezes up while loading plug-ins....

*sigh*

Well, that looks like it. And it makes perfect sense, considering the chain of events leading up to this. I'll try removing it when I get home. Too bad I already screwed up my Waves...

Re: Pro Tools freezes up while loading plug-ins....

And it's not just Structure... if I put Autotune (or Waves shells) in the plugins folder, it won't load either.

Re: Pro Tools freezes up while loading plug-ins....

I downloaded that, but don't see where it generates a plugin list. I ran the thing that says "Remove Plugin and toolkit warnings" and that appears to take some of the plugins out of the DAE\plugins...

Re: Pro Tools freezes up while loading plug-ins....

1) I already got the latest PACE drivers.
2) I ran the troubleshooting steps when I built the machine.
3) It isn't a session that's failing... it's Pro Tools itself. I can't even get to the part...

Pro Tools freezes up while loading plug-ins....

I had a hard drive crash a week or two ago... I keep regular backups of my drives, so no big deal. I got the new drive, restored the image to the drive and fired it back up. One of the first things I...

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

...because it sounds better on my interface.

Objectively, I shouldn't even need a reason. PT should be stable on any sample rate it offers. For that reason, I'm not looking for a way that I can...

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

Not yet. My next attempt will be to down-grade to 7.4 (or even 7.0/7.1) to see if this is an issue related to 8.0.

Re: What Do You Record At On PT, 44.1, 48, etc,?

This is true. You should always do your listening tests on several different monitors in several different rooms/spaces. This way you know the one that sounded "better" wasn't just a fluke. I tested...

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

Tried the following:

Run as... Administrator
Changed DAE Playback buffer Size and Disk Size
Turned off DEP for Pro Tools.

No dice.

Re: What Do You Record At On PT, 44.1, 48, etc,?

I didn't see this particular "angle" mentioned yet, so I figured I'd interject.

Before I get to it, I will agree that Nikki is correct about sampling rates, mathematically. There is no use in...

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

That's the old Sandra report (I posted a newer one later in the thread). Yes, I had a separate partition for installing Programs. No, it had nothing to do with my problem, as I proved when I...

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

The account I'm using is an administrator. On the previous install (when the problem first started), the only user on the machine was the windows administrator account.

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

If I open a brand new 88.2 session (not using a template) and add nothing but 8 mono audio tracks, arm them, and hit record, I get an immediate 6088 error.

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

Two more possibilities eliminated.

It's not related to any plugin. I pulled every plugin out of the folder and got the same results (6088 errors all the time).

It's not related to the digi...

Re: What's the fastest and most stable CPU/Motherboard combo right now...

Right, but I hadn't installed any plugins yet. All the tests I've mentioned so far were done before a single third-party plugin was installed.
