Re: Macintosh moving to ARM

But don't in-situ upgrade... try out Catalina and 2020.x on a new macOS install, ideally you have space for an extra APFS container on the internal drive. Just see how it behaves as a test. Getting...

Re: Direct Box for Bass into PT - Recommendation?

There are many ways to skin a cat.

I was thinking the most basic like start just recording using a DI and see if you like the sound. See if you like the sound of that wet through an amp sim.

Did you upgrade macOS? As a part of this upgrade? Was that an in-situ? or a clean install?

When you installed Pro Tools did you get a security...

Re: TDM Amp Sims

Ugh sorry. Thanks Janne.

What a dick. I thought Mk II was TDM as well. And I swore I had Googled to check that before posting, I have no idea what I looked at to convince myself that was true....

Re: C24 but Ethernet enabled causes instant 9093 PT12.4

And with that attitude you are even more on your own. Mate.

Now we at least know you did a bunch of useful stuff. No way to guess that from the initial posts. And you still have not posted a...

Re: Macintosh moving to ARM

The new Mac Pro are very nice. I played enough to feel like I would really like one but like != justify. I primarily use a Macbook Pro, so it's an additional cost. If I was having issues now that...

Re: Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge 2.0 ?

No. To be clear they have it working on OS X/macOS. But you need to get up to speed and follow all the directions. This is well beyond a normal user thing. I'd not followed the latest, I thought...

Re: Bluetooth Output Woes

Pro Tools wants to work with an ASIO interface that provides inputs and outputs in a single device.

What is the main interface you are using?

Your bluetooth earbuds have three main issues.

Re: Direct Box for Bass into PT - Recommendation?

8 Pre has 8 DI or mic combo inputs. So start there. No reason to be buying anything else unless you are unhappy with the results, and especially if you have hum issues then try a transformer based DI.

Re: Direct Box for Bass into PT - Recommendation?

First off, what interface do you have today?

Does it have a DI input? No? are you sure?

How many preamps does it have? Or are you using outboard preamps? do they have a DI input?

the cab...

You made a decision to buy new computer hardware and risk running...

Re: 1st Sample Rate prob in 20 years

I was a little asleep, if the issue is just your interface/driver were at the wrong clock rate then I'd use a tool like sox to just correct the sample rates in the wav or aiff headers. sox -r...

Re: Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge 2.0 ?

Thunderbolt does not work that way. You can't add any Thunderbolt to a Mac Pro classic Cheesegrater, well not while running macOS.

Re: 1st Sample Rate prob in 20 years

Do not trash anything.

What sample rates do the sessions think they are at? (Actually check what they are set to) And what sample rates is the content actually at? Sounds like they thought they...

Re: Projects being held hostage in the cloud.

Likely gigabit, not Gigabyte, and a not unusual claim for fiber to building/home fast broadband today. Like in the USA Verizon FIOS (who claim up to 940 Mbps down / 880 Mbps up). But then the USA...

Re: routing within pc

I would not inflict ASIO4ALL on myself. You can't just "ASIO4ALL" the input you have to aggregate that with an output in ASIO4ALL... Pro Tools cannot work without an output... and you cannot...

Re: Audio delay with interface

152ms @ 44.1k is .152 * 44,100 = 6700 samples.

That's a *lot* and none of the plugins you have listed should get you there. A single aux misuse will get you 1024 samples latency at 44.1kHz (Aux...

Re: Audio delay with interface

Again the most important info is just buffer size and sample rate. You are using a 64 samples IO buffer but at what sample rate?

And you divide them and get the expected latency... which is......
