Re: Recording Flamenco Guitar

Thanks everybody for the input.

Seems like limiter would be the most elegant solution, but I don't recall it to be taking care of the problematic peaks only. Every time I dealt with such stuff,...

Re: Recording Flamenco Guitar

Thx for the elaborate answer. I'll give a try to all the solutions tomorrow.
Just to make clear, there is no clipping whatsoever in the original recording.
I just get it on the Aux1 with EQ. On...

Re: Recording Flamenco Guitar

Hi Sardi, the player's condition was that all the compression there may be is the parallel compression (he wants that sound).

Acoustic people generally seem to bear grudge towards...

Re: Microphones for nylon string guitar?

I thought that Shure 81 would be a pendant to 57, on the condenser side, but mics are obviously not where my strength lies:oSo, not a good idea to use a condenser and a dynamic as "unmatched pair"?

Re: Microphones for nylon string guitar?

BTW I have an old SM57 lying around. If I buy a better quality condenser, would it be possible to use both with an mBox?

Re: Microphones for nylon string guitar?

Hi, I mostly record bowed strings. Don't have much experience with nylon stringed guitar. I already have a pair of Shure SM81, but there seems to be malfunction, and are out of warranty:(Anyways, I...

Hehe, my dear fellow you are really an optimist...yes, the first thing we'd do if making money with avantgarde recordings would be to buy software :)
Anyways, every time I read the legal mambo...

Thx for the info. Are you sure about Sound Soap? We got some simple air conditioner or static hum in the recording we can't purify unless destroying the sound.

Re: Renting PlugIns

Don't understand from the URS site what they offer in the demo mode...if one can't tryout without being interrupted all 10", then it is maybe better to avoid the fuss;)

Re: Digidesign iLok - USB Smart Key

Maybe we buy CSR Classik? This one doesn't seem to have too many options, but I recall one engineer used it for our string quartet once (the default setting concert hall) and it worked well.
