Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

avrinder is correct - more RAM and a dedicated hard firewire hard drive is the first place to start.

Have you done any of the other steps in the General Troubleshooting thread yet?

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

For anyone experiencing this error - can you tell us if you have RTAS/Host Error Suppression enabled in the Playback Engine and, if you do, does disabling it stop the 6101 errors from occurring?

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Did you see my previous post on this? You should reduce the number of processors dedicated to RTAS processing in the Playback Engine, which should help with the Amplitube errors.

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Do you have the same problems with 7.4.2 (assuming you had used it at some point or if you can revert back to it for testing)?

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

I'm at a loss. I can't reproduce this here and don't see anything about your system that should be causing these errors. I'm going to see if we have anyone else that can do some testing (we've had...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Is the G Drive FW400 or 800? Which ports do you have it and the 410 connected to? Have you done all the optimizations in the General Troubleshooting thread?

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Actually, it is supported and has been since early February.

I'm looking into other possible causes for this and will report back as soon as I have some time to test a few things.

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Certain IK plug-ins are known to be problematic unless you reduce the number of CPU's dedicated to RTAS processing in the Playback Engine. Have you tried that yet?

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

I want to check a couple things, just to be absolutely sure:

1. You have Spotlight disabled
2. If you go to System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items - what do you see there?
3. If you go to your...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

It possibly could be - have you contacted tech support by phone to have them go over everything? Do you have another 2626 that you could test with?

How do you have everything configured with this...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Try testing/swapping your RAM
Test hardware on another system
Zap PRAM and maybe reset SMU

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Please - if you know how the sticky is 'outdated', fill us in. We're all ears.

As for the problem being described - we give the so-called 'canned' response because troubleshooting is done step by...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

I don't know - we're looking for any possibility we can here. We've tried everything that would make sense normally, so now we have to move on to the fringe case possibilities.

I'm wondering if...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Have you made sure to do all the other troubleshooting - disabling airport/wireless, spotlight, etc?

Is there anything else running in the background that could be interfering? Have you tried...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

Wolfgang - I can say, unequivocally, that the problem is somewhere in your configuration. I have the same MBP (2.2ghz C2D, 4gb RAM) and run it without problems. I have a Siig 2-Port Expresscard...

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

What configuration was the FW400 drive in? Do you possibly have Spotlight enabled (Spotlight indexing can interrupt drive reads/writes and cause errors)?

Quick search on the M-Audio website:

Re: CPU Overload (error 6101) on intel macbook pro

You can't do that. M-Audio devices are not compatible with FW800 drives. If your drive has FW400 ports, please use those, otherwise you would probably be best served by getting a Siig 2-Port...
