It'll work but I will guarantee you there is no M$ software to support all the buttons and I doubt M$ has any drivers for the wireless functionality. Especially not for OS 9. You're on an unsupported...

Audio Hijack standard is $16 but it records the audio to AIFF...CD Burn ready with no conversion needed. iTunes can do that for you though.
And..it has a timer function so you don't have to be there...

If you are only talking about one drive...yes FW800 is overkill since the drive inside of the box can't take data as fast as the interface can provide it.
Where FW800 REALLY makes a HUGE difference...

Open Activity Monitor found in Applications>Utilities. Sort by name, you should see no mention of Dashboard or the Widgets. While you have AM open, press F12....let the widgets load....then press F12...

OK...NTFS, Mac OS X can only READ from NTFS....it cannot write to NTFS formatted hard drives. Copy those files off of the drive, reformat the drive as Mac OS Extended, NOT Journaled....copy the files...

I'm assuming OS X and that you have a decent vid card in the machine. Try increasing the resolution of the screen in the Display Prefs. everything will become smaller but you should be able to see...
