Re: Ryzen 32 core

True.
What really helps to spread the cpu load is if you use something like Kontakt or EW Play (samplers) is to not use a lot of patches in one instance. Rather use multiple instances of Kontakt or...

Re: Clean a Controller

IPA won't work as good as Windex. Been using that like forever and it cuts through all kinds of grime. Also works wonder on cleaning up the computer keyboard (the flat Apple ones). Just make sure you...

Re: No MIDI Input from Nektar Panorama T4

Glad it worked for you. Having to press record enable on a track just to play/audition sounds of a vi is backwards. This is one of those things that could be better explained in the manual. Like...

Re: Pro Tools and VEP6 - Mac is Freezing!

You have Kontakt on both machines then right?

CPU spiking in piano libraries is not uncommon especially if there's a lot of sustained notes going on. Keep in mind that for Kontakt Vienna says to...

Re: Tanoy Reveal 802

They're okay IF available. According to Sweetwater they're no longer available but other sources say they have them and at widely varying prices. Personally I'm partial to the JBL LSR series either...

I could never work that way but hey if it's okay for you then have at it.
To me your way is whistling past the graveyard

Re: Pro Tools and VEP6 - Mac is Freezing!

So your Mac is connected to both the internet and the slave machine at the same time? Try disconnecting the internet ethernet cable and see what happens. What else do you have running on the mac when...

Re: Which external hardrive for our set-up?

Nice thing with a separate drive to record to is say the system drive gets hosed somehow; if you recorded to that drive then you lose all your sessions. Unless you backup your sessions to an external...

Re: No MIDI Input from Nektar Panorama T4

IOW just MIDI notes and pitch bend and mod wheel stuff right? You're not using any of the controls on the Nektar to tweak things in PT right?

These next couple of questions might seem stupid and...

Re: Upgrade from PT 11.1.2 to 11.3.1

I wouldn't so much pay attention to the number of fixes in PT11.3.2 but what those fixes would mean to what you do. IOW they may have fixed something in video but if you don't do video then that...

Re: How do you backup?

You're missing the point. Any drive that's powered up all the time is never a safe backup. What I was also getting at is that external drive you backup to is the only safe backup for the simple fact...

Re: How do you backup?

TWO internal backup drives? Both holding the same material? Internal drives are by definition always powered on and aren't really a good backstop. Your only safe backup is that external drive.

I...

Re: Upgrade from PT 11.1.2 to 11.3.1

My mistake in assuming you had a Mac. That's what happens when you don't give complete info or any info at all. What known issues are you talking about with PT11.3.1? It's been so long since I ran...

Re: ProTools not optimized for your Mac warning

I know what the grid says. That doesn't mean a 32 bit plugin can't be installed; it would go in the same folder as aax64 plugins.

Re: Plug in appears in Audiosuite menu but not in my inserts

Are you trying to put a mono plug on a stereo track or vice versa?
I suggest you spend some time reading the PT User's Guide (aka The Manual) to see what AudioSuite plugins are and how they work....

By all means upgrade to PT11.3.1. What OSX are you running?

Re: ProTools not optimized for your Mac warning

It's not PT causing the warning. It could be a plugin that's not 64 bit (what plugins are you running?). Move all 3rd party plugins to the unused plugins folder when PT isn't running and restart PT....

Re: Pro Tools and VEP6 - Mac is Freezing!

The MBP - on battery or is the power adapter plugged in and powered up?

Does the MBP give you issues like this when not running VEPro?

Got latest revision of VEPro?

What else is running on...

Re: HD Native TB not recognized on new Mini

Glad you found it. OSX security can be maddening at times and when it blocks something it doesn't tell you; the process just fails. I wonder what kind of hurdles await those on the newest generations...

Re: how to upgrade from 10 HD

Being you're looking to stay on the DSP side of things that old Accel card you have won't work with current PT versions. You're going to need an HDX card; you may be able to find one second hand that...

Did you install the correct drivers?
Do you have a Digilink license asset on your iLok?

Re: No MIDI Input from Nektar Panorama T4

Re: Session Loadtime much too slow

Would be interesting to see where the loading process seems to take the most time. PT puts up little boxes about what's happening during the loading.

I'm guessing everything is audio at this point...
