Video has been solid for me through the past couple of iterations of PT. I'm not using any kind of external video box/codec, just the Mac's HDMI to a TV.

Out of curiosity, are you trying to open Falcon *outside* of ProTools? It will only open as a plugin within PT, and the message you're seeing is what's flashed when trying to open it elsewhere.

I wish that were always the case. Most of my sessions are pretty VI-heavy, and some can take a minute or two to load, especially if using Lexicon reverbs which inject their own loading (and closing)...

There's a period of adjustment -- no doubt -- but it's short, and once you're beyond it the GUI feels easier to navigate. Everyone's mileage does vary, however.

Yes, that's what I'd said -- it depends on what the computer shipped with. But it does take some research, albeit not much, to find out which OS initially came on your machine. Even that is more work...

Monitor setup (or type) can make a big difference. It looks better on my 32" 4k computer monitor than it does on my 42" TV, but the TV is calibrated. TVs often ship with vivid settings out-the-box,...

Oh I'm definitely not itching to upgrade, but I do still get CPU spikes -- the only major source of stress when building sessions in PT -- and I can't help think that a cleaner and more modern OS...
