Make sure that the Ethernet port you use to record is set to the highest priority in your macs networksettings.

USB 3 is fine. You should not run into trouble. Should you run into any trouble, you can use the disk allocation feature of pro tools to spread the load out on more drives. Easy! :)

You should be fine. It all comes down to your harddrives write speed. SSD or Flash storage is plenty fast to handle many many 96KHz tracks. Don't record on your systemdrive but an dedicated external...

I am pretty sure it is a loose connection between two DSP cards inside the engine. It requires opening up the engine.

It happend with the latest SW the keyboard was a Cherry G84-4400. A keyboard/trackball Combi. But it boots up fine 9/10 times.
