buy the mex. version, then replace the electronics with EMG active pickups- it will be just as good as the deluxe (pickups cost about $175)

rear mic position- direct or reflected?

Hi there- this may be a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyways:

with the two rear mics, would you point them towards the source (the stage, etc...) or towards the back of the hall to pick up...

my G3'd powertower pro crashes or hangs about once every two weeks. It's on 24/7 and I'm really pleased that it has served me this well after upgrading it w/ G3, usb,firewire,etc...well worth the 2k...

i lost my mp3 converting ability in pro tools a week after I paid for it.... I've never been able to get it to work again, so I just bounce to aiff and convert in another app.

In the real world we know that certain timbres of instruments (ie. brass) reach the distortion threshold of a 1 inch diaphragm mic much earlier than the factory specs (for test tones)....

I'd skip the ADATs in the home studio now that you have protools. (you can use them for location recording, etc...)

Take a listen to the Rode NT3 mic. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how it compares to the 4041. It's my fav. of the Rode mics....
