Bluray use DD+, DTSMaster audio etc. You need special decoders/tools for this. Only some BDs have the old AC3 codec, then you can use the tools above.
May be try TMPEG Masteringworks, to decode this...

Thats your point. I think PT Mix DSP and HD Systems sounds better or have a special look because fixed point DSP mixing. HDX and HD Native use floating-point mixing, its a other "sound look"! :)

Use Dolby tools for a good downmix, this is IMO the best way!
I think, if the native 5.1 Surroundmix sounds good and is mastered perfect, then make it like Dolby for a 2.0 Surround Mode, SL+SR=Mono...
