In Logic you simply define Mixer Groups to do this. Works fine with the MC Mix.

I should imagine "Cubendo" has a similar feature.

I imagine any "linking" would be done in the DAW (and then the Mix would follow as appropriate).

Oooh - how's that done...?

File / Import let's me pick a project and choose which tracks etc are imported. Also there's a "import project settings..." box where various settings can be selected...

May be some confusion here.

At least in Logic, layouts *ARE* saved as part of the DAW session.

This does mean they can't be imported/exported between sessions.

I have 3 Mixes and a Transport.

Couldn't quite see what the Control brings to the party. But then I'm not trying to avoid the computer, just supplement it with faders etc.

But YMMV !

To switch layouts, you can either use the EuControl app, or, hotkeys on the MC Transport unit - if you have one.

( as robertg says ).

I'm' not aware you can do this from the MC Mix.

The original silver ones got upgraded (to control v2). But I can't remember if this coincided with them turning black. I think there are silver control v2 units. When they turned black, I'm not...

Hi - fraid I'm not sure I fully understand your reply. Are you saying Artist units work better with Logic than Protools ?

Yep. I seem to be lucky. Or perhaps things are better with Logic. (never used PT).

FWIW my Artist units have the default configuration ("use DHCP"), and the DHCP service on my router is using...

Fine. However, for anyone else reading this, that won't provide any benefit, as the Artist units have 10/100M interfaces (not Gigabit) and basic Cat5 is just fine.

That's really weird yours banks in multiples of 4, instead of 8.

Forgot to say I'm using Logic.

As for mixing, I just tend to make a custom layout for what I need. This is very quick.

My MC Mixes (8 faders) always bank in groups of 8.

That said, for any serious projects I tend to ignore auto-banking, and...
