Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Listen dude: I do not want your help nor have I ever asked for it. Don’t take yourself too important, you are not the superstar you think you are.

Again, no one wants your help, especially not...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Yeah, sorry, I should have posted: Been down that road before with musicman691 and it always ends up badly with musicman691.

Sorry about that.

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Yeah, because your knowledge is insufficient.
You think you are "Mr. Know It All" when most of the things you post is rubbish.

No, I am stupid, what is Google? I investigate on known forums...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

In terms of what?
There are problems with it and ignoring the fact doesn't help the issue.
Whenever I have APFS formatted drives attached to my audio Macs (Mac Pros 5,1, 6 and 12-Core) I see such...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

You obviously never measured it.
A simple SSD in any of the drive bays boots up as fast as the fastest PCIe SSD on an AMFELTEC SQUID Gen2 (S KU-086-01) PCIe Carrier Board (x16/F), I am using one of...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Why are you posting such bad comments?
Only because we disagreed in the past?

You show no respect sir.

Other than this I have investigated all this. I always do before I post on certain...

Re: Catalina on Mac Pro 5,1

The bottom line is this:

If you need your 32-bit software (plug-ins, whatever), do not upgrade to Catalina.

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

I never claimed that boot time tells something about storage speed. Actually a simple 2.5 SSD sitting in one of the SATA drive bays in a classic Mac Pro (4,1 / 5,1) gives you full boot speed, it will...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Janne,

I appreciate your efforts.
I know a little bit of all this, and I thought you knew.

No need to educate me.

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Well, you might think I still use spinners, I don't unless for cheap backup purposes.
The fairytale never having to "defragment SSD storage" is not true.

Anyway, I use Samsung M.2 NVMe SSD's, all...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

Besides that, how do you repair drives and partitions? DiskWarrior is a no go for APFS and how it looks like never will be.
