Definitely!!

Got a Highpoint 7101 with 4x 970 Evos in my Mac 7.1 and getting R/W speeds of roughly 8000mb/sec

Same here,
depending on the project I have either a one machine setup on the 7.1,
or the Ultrastudio running of an Mac Mini 2018. Both works great,
also Ultrastudio in combination with the ADR...

When I installed my HDX3 in the MacPro 7.1 I took the 3PCI Slots with next to the Apple I/O card, which seemed obvious to me. Systems runs great so far, so I am not sure if I`m gonna change that...

I had it on 512, but for testing I put it down to 64 and all went smooth, no dropouts or error messages.

First week of running my Rack MacPro, 16cores, 192 Ram, 1TB internal, 4x 1TB 970 EVO Plus in a Highpoint 7101, HDX3, AJA Kona LHi:
