If I uninstall pro tools and reinstall fresh and as long as I have my session files/ folders I'm good right? No harm done in an uninstall reinstall?

Thank you all, good suggestions That I will implement. I like the idea of keeping pro tools open... regardless if the pc goes to sleep it'll keep PT loaded in memory. I think may be the anti virus...

Sure, you can insert a compressor on an instrument track. However if you want to compress just one thing like a kick you would want that kick on it's own track. With digital music a kick can easily...

1) can't compress midi. Midi is just data. So you must mean an inserted instrument track or returned audio track from an external syth. So midi no, instrument and audio yes
