Re: 9.0.6 update - MIDI editing bug

I've had the same midi editing bug since PT 9.05 was released. I reported it and was promised a fix. PT 9.06 came out and made the bug even worse, so I am back with PT 9.03. I would not buy PT10...

Re: 9.0.6. still a no no

Even 9.07 is released, don't bet it will fix anything just like 9.05.

It's just cosmetics, and what we are looking for is major surgery.

Re: Reverting back to 9.0.3

Using Midi in PT 9.06 is even more sluggish than PT 9.05. Dont bother to udpate if you use midi a lot. I have a session with 50 midi tracks, and when I click to show a track in the midi editor it...

Fix the MIDI issues AVID

I can't believe that Avid did not bother to resolve the extremely sluggish midi behaviour in PT9.06! The issues were ackowledged by Avid Support team, and a solution was promised soon in an...

Re: 9.0.6. still a no no

I installed 9.06 hoping the midi issues were resolved and sadly discovered they are worse in 9.06. So, unless you have 3 hours to kill in installing, un-installing, and reinstalling, don't bother...

Re: Pro tools did not shut down correctly!!!!!!!!

The only workaround I found is to host all my samples and plugins in VE PRO and keep Pro Tools session size less than 500 MB -1 GB. If your session grows bigger, and uses more plugins, PT 32 bit wont...

Re: Will PT 9 continue to be developed now that 10 is out?

Forget PT10. Avid is probably busy working on PT11 which hopefully will be 64 bit (but dont count on it). They have to catch up with the rest of the DAW world. With that in mind, I doubt we will see...

Re: Pro tools did not shut down correctly!!!!!!!!

I think you are right. I am having the same problem. When PT crashes, it still appears as if it running in the Task Manager, and even if you force quit (by ending the process tree) it will take...

Re: Pro Tools 10 Freezes

Thanks for letting us know.

I am having similar freezing problems in PT9, and this is the main reason I am not jumping to PT10. For me, PT9 is still in beta and was prematurely released. Looks...

Re: PT 9.06 release date?

Dec-Jan! That's too long, given that midi in PT 9.05 does not work at all! PT behaviour with any session having more than 50 midi tracks becomes extremely slow and sluggish (PC & Mac)! This makes PT...

Re: Pro Tools MIDI Editor: is it me or is it really that bad??

Welcome to the club! I've had the same problem after updating to PT 9.05, with any sesssion having more than 50 tracks (my template is 140). I donwgraded to 9.03 and it works better. Not as fast as...

Re: PT 9.06 release date?

Re: PT 9.0.5 Hangs Like Crazy

I've had the same problems with PT 9.05, finally I gave up and went back to PT 9.03. It is more stable.

Re: "A game changer"

How about 64-bit and the ability to use all your RAM for 20 VI's (like kontakt)without getting pops and constant crashes? or how about bounce offline?

For me that's what is missing...midi and...

Re: PT 9.06 release date?

Pro Tools is great for mixing and post. But I am considering Cubase now for music production, its just the learning curve and setting up my template all over again.

Compared to Pro Tools midi, is...

Re: Auto Save error (seems like a major Protools 9 Problem)

I found an extremely simple solution for Autosave: just TURN IT OFF.
I've turned it off since PT8, and got used to save manually every 5 min or so.

To get rid of this bug, AVID should remove the...

Re: PT 9.06 release date?

Yeah, I went back to 9.03 because of all the bugs with midi in PT9.05. Avid support promised a quick fix, that has yet to materialize.

I understand they were busy getting PT 10 released, but I...

Re: PT 9.06 release date?

I am more into music creation and seriously considering Cubase now.

Avid seems to be more concerned to please post production users. This is evident from the absence of any significant new...

PT 9.06 release date?

Can Avid advise when can we expect PT 9.06??

For those of us who upgraded to PT 9 a few months ago, and are not willing to take the PT10 plunge, we expect continued support and bugs fixed on PT9....

Re: Last upgraded not 10 months ago

+1:mad: total disappointment

Avid better fix PT 9 with all its bugs before releasing a new PT10 that offers very few new features for post production and nothing new for music creation.

Now...

All good for post production, but what about music creation guys??

Very disappointed PT10 is not 64 bit yet and the lame excuse why we should wait another year or more before this goEs to 64 bit....

Re: How to gain more processing power

It depends on how many cores are you allocating to PT. Normally one less than the total available. I have had similar problems, until I got Vienna Ensemble Pro. Try the 30-day trial demo or any other...

Re: Going back to PT 9.3 - PT 9.5 midi is a disaster

I uninstalled PT then installed PT 9.02 and updated to 9.03. it was easy. And midi is much better than in PR 9.05 where the whol software become unusable.

That's strange PT told you dont use any...
