my real confusion here is because not only am I going from PT LE 7.1 to 8 but I'm also going from a G4 to an intel version of Mac.

i finally ugraded to Mac Pro and PTLE 8. DV Toolkit 2 question.

I finally ugraded to Mac Pro 8 core and PTLE 8. I was running 7.1 on a G4.

What do I do about updating my DV Toolkit 2?

I assume I can't just install using the original disc from years ago...

they want $150 to go from 7.3 - 7.4 ....is that right?

just up graded to Leopard, I was running 7.3 Now I need to spend $150?

if I rename a session and the folder it lives in will that screw up my disc allocation?
Is there a better way to rename?

yes, i'm sorry, i meant the 8-core (2x quad core processor)

i'm not sure if I want to come up with another $800 for this one or go with the 2x 3.0 dual core.

I know that the Mac Pro with quad core processors are not supported yet my digidesign,
But do you see the quad core (when it is finally supported) have a much bigger advantage over the dual 2 core....

when i import audio from another session, the track goes to the beginng on the session rather than to it's time stamp.
any way that i can fix this?

why is it that when i turn a session template into a session it puts the audio files in a random place.
What am i doing wrong.

my guess (and it is only a guess) we weill see an 003 by the end of the first quarter of 07 at the latest. What's that like April or so?

i doubt that we will see it before January.

i know that when tiger came out, the way to save a template changed.
i did a search and couldn't find any info on it.

hello. i am exporting 8 tracks of 24 bit, 48k aif files as OMFs
they are about 7 minutes long and are takong almost 5 minutes to export.
does this seem right?
is there a quicker way?

yes it will be enough, get the fastest one you can afford and if your using a lot of those plug ins get a good amount of ram.

go to mac and you'll never look back.
