1. As mentioned, I will use Ivory and Receptor, and for the touch, which is important to the pianist, I will use a Yamaha P120/200 as a MIDI controller...

Re: Additional 16 Auxes!!!

Alternatively, you can also use "direct out" to do just that. Feed the "return" of the reverb (in this case reverb for vocal) to an unused channel or FX return and you free up another valuable Aux.

Re: Trading down to Command 8?

The ProControl's outdated anyway. The Command 8 is pretty handy (I am using one) and once you get some cash from the sale of ProControl and upgrade to HD, you will be making some money and maybe in...

Re: Multitrack audio over IP

I would advise against Aviom. The concept might be great, but in real world use, the sound quality is highly questionable. I have not spent a lot of time on the Aviom to be able to judge it, but from...

I am not able to reproduce this either, and I am using a similar Mac like yours. Mine's a single processor unit.

Re: Have there ever been any Major CD releases w/

Interestingly, two engineers in Taiwan went ballistic and competed an album for a well known pop artiste entirely in 002R. And that went on to the top of the charts. Well, what is their secret?...

Re: Laptop Pro Tools users at 100% CPU load - UNIT

I use a Sony VAIO VGN-S38GP (Pentium-M 1.73Ghz proc), Mbox (alt between that and a 002), 1GB RAM, PT6.9, and everything works ok.

Re: did i get fooled into pro tools.?

In theory, yes... but current computers cannot handle that kind of DSP requirements. Then again, bless Intel for Dual Core! And to add to the joy, PT7 supports Dual Core! I cannot wait for October...

Re: Expansion for C8 >Digi>?

Actually, the Command 8 IS the expansion for Control 24 and ProControl... did you know that? If you add a Command 8 to a Control 24, you effectively get 32 faders! The same for a ProControl rig... so...

Re: Making MIDI drum more dynamic...

Ever tried editing the sampler/synth to muck around with the envelops? I mean, the decay settings, sustain, etc. There are many things you can do within MIDI and that is not done in the MIDI...

Re: MIDI Interface that works with Digi 001?

This is bloody weird, but I have used a AMT8 with my Digi001 on a Quicksilver 867 and that has never gave me problems at all! (ProTools 5). So I am not sure what really happened to the other folks...

Re: Tiger experiences and what external Hardrive?

I have seen some product specialist of Digidesign (at tradeshows) using the new 7200rpm 2.5" (laptop harddisk) in USB 2.0/FW400 combo cases for demos and they were playing back 40+ tracks of audio on...

Re: Tiger experiences and what external Hardrive?

There are many Taiwanese made external Firewire cases out there with the right chipset. It helps to do your research and even email them to verify which chipset that they use for their cases.

In...

Re: More voices in this new PT LE 7.0 ???

I would not make a comparison like that at all.

Only thing I can say about having ProTools now is that it makes like a whole more convenient than in the days of tape/reels.

Having an all...
