Re: Have perpetual license. What happens if I stop paying?

You'll be left with the version of Pro Tools you have when you stop paying. You'll lose whatever plugins are part of your perpetual plan. (I don't know what they are, honestly I don't use that stuff)...

Re: How can I use one license on two different computers with a digital iLok key?

Cloud iLok is a great idea, but I wish it was mandatory for all licenses. It's saved my ass recently when I drove south to do some work... but left my iLok at home. Luckily I called home, and my...

Re: Delaying the Last Word Without Mapping Every Single Word on Automation

Not gonna happen. You can't automate plugin parameters with MIDI in pro tools, at least not Pro Tools Software without a Eucon interface.

Re: New track naming

A related problem with Pro Tools...
I create 20 tracks called 'Desk' for capturing multitrack from a desk whilst rehearsing. The tracks automatically get named and numbered 1 thru 20.

However,...

Re: Batch Renaming only renaming clip, not disk file

glad I found this thread.

The one time I want to use Batch Rename.... thanks for the tip it got me sorted right out. Another mind-boggling mishap, why not add a check box like in regular rename?!

Re: ProTools price adjustments from July 1st.

agreed.
Here's a test at 16!!!! samples, using instrument plugins that do not work below 128 buffer in Pro Tools, along with plugins like TG12345 that add too much latency to perform through in Pro...

Re: Best/Simplest way to get System Sound patched into PT

I use the loopback of my RME. Works great. Set MacOS outputs to 3/4, click loopback and then record inputs 3/4 while the channel in PT is muted. Don't unmute it until you're done though!

Re: ProTools price adjustments from July 1st.

Do you think your clients would be happy with a 100% price increase tomorrow morning? For no reason? I doubt it. Why should we 'be happy' about it?

Re: I had it with MBox 3 Pro drivers. Please suggest!

I've been in the exact same boat, but with an Mbox 2 mini, Firewire ProFire 2626, and an AudioBox VSL 2424. Seriously just buy a PCIe RME card, and never look back. Even paired with some Behringer...

Re: What brand ssd?

I've had OCZ 128gb, Kingston 128gb, Intel 600p NVMe, Corsair 128gb, and a 1TB Sandisk. The only one that has failed is the 1TB sandisk (mainly for holding samples, and large downloads and video...

Re: How do you backup?

I once had a session at a studio that I work for, where the only data drive (a 7200rpm hdd) decided to die and start clicking.

The drummer had come all the way from spain for a week of drum...

Re: So How is 2018.12 working for you ?

working great for me but still ****s the bed on any virtual instruments below 128 buffer... ones that work a treat in standalone at 32 samples. seems like there's been no change to that end of things.

Re: CPU spikes? NO! ***sigh*** yes.

In Guitar Rig standalone I can get down to 32 samples, and in Pro Tools? I'm on PCIe though, mac. Actually using it in pro tools is another issue entirely. Any hint of a VST and it crumbles at 32,...

Re: Installing Pro Tools On Mojave

Put some of that dollar into a new version of pro tools. Personally I would take the macbook back, get something the next level down, and pay for Pro Tools with the left over change. It seems...

Re: ProTools 2018.4 Ultimate and macOS Mojave

Ah, okay. Yes you are correct. The CPU meter does go up compared to 128. I just assumed that was the cost of doing business, but it makes sense now, that it shouldn't be like that. To be fair now...

Re: ProTools 2018.4 Ultimate and macOS Mojave

It's quite concerning to see all this talk of latency and buffer problems on HD systems. I thought the whole idea was for them to have low enough latency to track with plugins at the lowest buffer?

Re: Pro Tools 18.1 (12.9)

I know that's the setting... I'm just saying, it seems dense to allow both. If i'm using the keyboard shortcut then maybe it shouldn't do it. But fiiiiinee I'll go click a single check box.

Pro...

really happy that ProQ 2 supports the EQ view. So nice! Just need waves to catch up. Getting to grips with the playlist shortcuts, they seem like they will be big time savers. Finally an update...
