Question about coloring tracks

Hi,
I saw a sceen shot somewhere, it was PT 7.3 mixer window with colors on full channel strip instead of only a very small strip just above and below the channel strip.

This is what I did
Buy 192 Digital only and 1 AD16, 1 DA16 [all old version which is cheaper].
You will have 16 In/Out .... Apogee quality.

yeah, in DP when you use "merge audio file" (same as consolidate in PT) it'll create a new file with .mg at the end but It's still an AIF file .

Thanks for the advise, I don't need a lots of gain so I guess I'll go for the Line version, another reason is I need at least 1 aux for insert my 480L, and I read some reviews...
