Been using PT since the PTIII days and really know the user interface. Zoom, cut, nudge, drag, insert plugin, make reverb bus, volume envelope, etc. etc. etc.

Can any of the other DAWs be made to...

Most software allows you to use more than one version at the same time.

Off the top of my head I come up with all the Adobe products (photoshop etc.), the iWork (or whatever it's called now)...

There seems to be a bit of chatter that PT12 is "more stable" or "more responsive" than PT11 and if that is actually true it might make it worth upgrading now, but to be honest I'm not convinced yet....
