I think the plugin bundle requires active support plan, or separate rental plan if you do not wish to pay the yearly support fee. If you are still on youre grace period, I would advise to renew.

Yes the interfaces need to connect via DigiLink cable, which means eiher HD cards, HDN, or HDX cards. Even though HDN and HDX have different connector the old boxes are compatible witn adapters,...

Mac Pro 2013 does not have 5.1 output so you need to monitor via your interface. Go to Apple Menu / System Preferences / Sound / Output to choose from what you have.

Kumusta! Welcome to the community

DB25 cable carries analog audio so your Mac will not see the controller at all. Only the analog 5.1 output.

Yes, that is how it is. Need to be matching i/o for Hardware Inserts. That is one of the DSP mixer rules that Avid has chosen to match in Native to avoid confusion.

Disk allocation has nothing to do with track counts. However the original poster has not told which sampling rate the session is running. PT Standard maxes out at 32 tracks if the session is 192kHz....

That archaic technical reason is called DSP, and Avid simply has chosen to keep same limit with Native systems.

The most important question here is HOW have you installed your Catalina? PT needs a clean install, meaning emptying your storage and installing from zero to hero, not using any migration or restore...

DigiDesign branded "blue" interfaces work with current systems, but are not supported. If ever you may need firmware update, that is a no-go.

Unless you want a windtunnel, stick with your tower as long as you can. And unless you need either NVMe SSD support or latest PT verstion you have absolutely no reason to "upgrade" from Sierra.
