ok, everyone keep in mind.... each interface has differnet latencies for analog and digital inserts. they are listed in the manual.

The old presets are just dropped in the trash.
Pull them out and put them in the Indigo settings folder. Then they will all open for you just like...

Generally, I get 40-50 tracks at 48k off one FW drive.. no problem. could get more if needed.

at 96k, I don't htink 24-30 tracks is a major...

Virus presets open within Indigo (drag the preset files to your new Indigo settings folder-they will sound the same).

I believe you're right, the passive one has better components... and you never want to add anything to the signal coming out of your 2 bus anyway.

sure, the reamp will work. there are a few boxes that will work.

I've found sending my DI signal out of PT at -19dB or so works really well. Basically does something very similar to a re-amp...

the warmth feature on the Oxford Comp is a stripped down version of the Inflator.

the "dyanmics" plug in is great. The new Channel strip!! but better. I wish the compressor was a bit less "safe"...

There are a lot of differnet factors when upgrading from Mix to HD. without having the versions of PT, OS, each plug in, and PACE...

make sure you only have one waveshell in your plug ins folder. also make sure you don't have duplicate waves plugins in its own folder. If you have ever upgraded, this may have happened.

On the PC, the engine percentage varies, on Mac it is at 100%.. basically 'reserving' the rest of the chip

You WILL NOT save one chip by using a Y cable.

Interface connections, etc count against your mixer plugin/chip.
Using a Y cable merely save 13% on a mixer plug in/chip.

Most RTAS plug ins (not all) do not have any delay, becasue they are host based. So, if you see a zero, that's ok. Of course you have H/W buffers etc to worry about and that cause delay....
