The advice you received about external hard drives is pretty accurate. You do want to make sure it's 7200rpm. You could potentially look at USB3, Thunderbolt, or FireWire 800 drives if...

Hi aslamamin. What connection options does your hard drive have? Your easiest solution will probably be to buy a USB hub. These are inexpensive and will work for your midi keyboards, iLok, etc,...
