Here's a workaround that works for me... Depending on the way your system is configured it may or may not work for you.

If you have a spare stereo audio track, mixdown to the stereo audio pair....

I use Alesis DM PRO and a D4. With a little setup effort I get discrete tracks for everything (12 outputs). I think ROland makes some heads with more outputs as well. Don't settle for stereo outs....

For the record, the problem turned out to be a faulty Promise controller chip on the motherboard. Bypassing the Promise controller (integrated - not a card) and simply using the secondary IDE channel...

Good... The point I was making that sometimes undeleters don't recover everything perfectly. Running a recovered exe or dll that was less than 100% might be danngerous. Undeleters are great for...

For what its worth, I have had PTS files trashed by running the MS XP built in defrag utility. One thing you should always do IMO, is reboot clean before running any defragger, then reboot again...

44.1 is what it should read, and it should be stable... definately an issue here...

However, I noticed that on the board, optical 1-8 and 9-26 are on the same 'module 1' (module 2 is 17-32)...

tele: you are correct... as far as the MIDI spec goes. It really seems to be something of an anomaly.

You might think that the note volumes should really IMO be representative of the MIDI track....
