Re: 002 tuning on and off by itself
Sounds like you have the dreaded DC Power Harness issue.
But don't worry, there is hope!
Call digi tech support and tell them what is happening and they'll overnight you the repair kit.
It is...

Is PT making good use of dual processor machines?

Re: Is PT making good use of dual processor machines?
Well, sort of.
It will use up 1 entire CPU leaving the other CPU free to do things like draw the screen, deal with IO to the disk, etc.
All the real crunching occurs on just 1 cpu.
This is...

Re: Is PT making good use of dual processor machines?
Some of it is probably due to the low latency required by the PT engine that makes it very hard if not nearly impossible to do via dual processors. Either that or they are being lazy Maybe a...

Re: SysEx MIDI Monitor for OS X?
Hmm.. There may be somewhat of a void I could fill here.
I wrote an osx app to control my bass pod which communicates via sysex.
If you ask really, really, really nicely I could probably whip...

I've used this and it works great (Although, admittedly, I'm not sure about the sysex on it. It probably does it).
Quite handy when debugging midi setups too

for the record - the beach ball appears when an osx application does not respond to GUI events for more than 5 seconds.
This can be for any of a zillion reasons - the machine not giving any cycles...

Getting horrid results with time expansion
Last night I was helping a friend out who wanted to change a piece from 120bpm to 125. So I figured I'll just use the time expansion audio suite plug. What I discovered was it sounded absolutely...

Re: Does anyone run a Digi001 with a dual 1.25ghz
RIght. If you were to buy your dual 1.25ghz you won't need to fix the PSU, etc. I bought mine over a year ago and when I got it it didn't need any of that stuff. You'll know if you have a "wind...

Re: 002r Upgrade, Sweetwater, Musicians Friend

This is how it work.

Re: To 002 or not
I'm interested in the control surface nature of the 002. That is a big thing... and buying an 002r and say, a HUI or whatever would cost more than the 002 itself.

Yesterday I...

I'm quite upset by this "death" of the 001.

Picking PCI slots doesn't affect a mac unlike a PC.
God. It was so nice not playing "musical cards" when I switched. Popped my 001 in and it just worked.
Hurray!

Re: Reason & PT performance?
The one thing to keep in mind with reason, specifically the NN-19 and NN-XT is that it loads samples into ram, so if you have a lot of them or a huge patch (like a 139MB piano patch) it can be quite...

Re: Digi001 prevents Mac going to sleep mode in OS

A fellow DUC member made this utility that re-enables deep sleep, but you need to reboot to enable it and then PT will not work.

Re: Otimization on Osx?

OSX likes ram.
Next, Protools will only use 1 cpu of the system - the other cpu is left to do things such as draw the screen, etc. So you are comparing your 1.2ghz vs his 1.4ghz...
