And yes I tried trashing the database files but not the preferences yet. how do i do that?

This is the info from the drive:

Name : LacieHD ProTools
Type : Volume

Disk Identifier : disk2s10
Mount Point : /Volumes/LacieHD ProTools
File System : Mac OS Extended (Journaled)...
