Albee..thank you for your help. I've been testing the imac with the internal drive and it's working great, but digi's 24 point font bold red "do not use the system drive" warning is freaking me out...

A complete uninstall and reinstall of PT has solved the issue (for now)...crossfades are at least chugging along nicely...

Hmmm..I might've spoken too soon. After I trashed the data/prefs, beat detective now slices up the audio nice and quickly, but the crossfade process is still painfully slow. Slow as if it's broken....
