APFS is a necessary switch for Apple if they are to have a file system capable of supporting a robust cloud platform. HFS+ has time resolution of a second - not viable for in-time synchronisation...

It's a bit more than that.
It means that _no_ third party (non Avid) software can use avid cards, e.g. HDX. So for instance, Logic, which most studios carry cant work with the current Avid Core...

Watch out for the Avid Core Audio bug with recent versions of MacOS. Avid have known about this for over a year and seem to be ignoring it.

Can you manually launch the Avid Core Audio Manager and does it work, i.e. can you play sound from Logic/iTunes/etc., through your HDX?

I've a ProTools 11 + HDX card configuration waiting to be updated to 12.x on Mac OS 10.11.12.

However, I don't want to flash the card because I also have Logic Pro...

I'm setting up a new PT11 Studio.
The studio has a D-Command (24 channel), HDX card, 8x8x8 I/O (x2), and Avid PRE x 2.

I'm stuck at configuring multiple Avid PREs for remote control....
