So, all good up until today when I loaded Newfangled Audio's Saturate plug, instantiates fine, opens fine, adjusts fine but as soon as I try to close the plug in window... PT crashes BIG time.

I see... I'm talking AUDIO rather than MIDI, the example in the vid is certainly extreme! I usually(99% of the time) do all my major MIDI work in LPX then move the audio over to PT for editing and...

Um... no it didn't, everything snapped perfectly to the grid regardless of Samples/ticks as time ref in all versions prior PT 11 (PT 10 and down). I used to be able to duplicate a clip/region and...

Hmmm... you make a VERY good point regarding the SOUND of PT. I came off the back of Nuendo as well (since v1.0) and finally moved fully to PT in v9 when ADC was finally implemented in non HD...
