I'm having great results with the Audient ASP008 w ADAT. It may be out of your price range, but it certainly was a bump up from my Presonus (which for the money wasn't bad).

I like the Audient. Maybe a tad too clean, but it's been real dependable and was a huge step up when I mothballed my Digimax. It runs a bit hot so leave a rack space open above it.
