Btw. Even though the current external models are TB3 only, it'll still work on older TB2 Macs. Just connect a TB3 dock / hub via the apple TB2/TB3 adapter and connect the AJA device via TB3...

Had the same problem with the AJA T-TAP Pro. I couldn't make it work and as kind of a last try I downgraded to v16.2.6. No issues since then. The software doesn't have to be running with this version.

My not so great workaround:

1. Save
2. Select the tracks you wanna count
3. Make sure at least one of the tracks isn't empty.
4. Go to 'Track' - 'Delete...'

PT will now display this...

I honestly don't see the benefit with 23.12 in comparison to 23.6 under Mojave.
Especially since you won't benefit from sketch nor the internal renderer.
23.6 is really stable for me.

+1 for TCE! It is also phase stable like Pitch'n Time Pro, which is quite important when working with two different mic signals.

And since people mentioned it might be annoying to put in on every track, you can also just create a single AUX track with muteomatic on it and just send all your record track through the AUX.

If so, I have a feeling it's USB related. Try using a USB 2.0 Hub between your Mac and the Tascam.

You're welcome.
It's also nice for conferencing since you can mute your TB mic as soon as you're in playback, so it won't pick up the signal from your speakers.

Maybe I'm confused now and didn't get what you are trying to do, but I can put muteomatic on a track and It'll mute the said track as soon as I hit record.

You can set muteomatic to mute the track only when in record.

IIRC It was a seperate license back in the days.
It's now included but can't tell for sure since when.

Good idea, but then you always have to disarm the track to be able to hear the playback.
Otherwise the record fader will still be activated.

I think they don't want the muting 'hustle' and just hit play and hear the recording, or record and don't hear the signal going through the mic.
I'm quite sure there isn't a playback involved...

Even tho it's not written for your special scenario, I think it should work for you.

Did you try more ‘run-up’? Tab to transient sometimes needs just more space in advance, otherwise it’ll just fly to the next transient. It’s always been like this.
