Re: PT 10 with Alesis Sr-16 Midi issue

No really enough info but, shot in the dark; you need MIDI cables in both directions, AND you need the audio outputs of the SR16 connected to inputs of your interface and create a stereo AUX track...

Re: Command 8 max usb cable?

I don't have one here to test, but I am using a 50' USB extension cable with a small keyboard/trackpad so I can run a session from any other room. EBay has them for cheap(think I paid $18 for the one...

Re: Control 24 issue

Control24 does not have a "stand alone" mode(so Pro Tools needs to be open to a session).

Re: Defrag

I'm no expert, but I have not defragged a drive in several years(and have no plans to). I also prefer to move a session from one drive(or partition) to another(and maybe clear out unused audio clips...

Re: PT 2018.4: When recording to a audio tack waveform acts bizarrely!

The more important detail is how high the track meter moves, With metering set to pre-fader, the proper level is around just below where the meter turns from green to yellow(the "yellow is the new...

Re: m-powered 8.0.5. - any other upgrade

There really is no advantage to moving up to version 9 that I can see. A much wiser investment would be to build a newer system based on a new version of Pro Tools(regular, NOT M-Powered). Here are...

Re: My 8th 192 IO doesn't have analog outputs?

What exact version of 192 is this newest one? If its a 192 Digital(says "Digital" on the front), then it can't use analog cards. Having said that, you still can get analog IO by adding(assuming 44.1...

Re: PT 12.5: Inputting bass signal into MOTU 828 mkiii

Since you have (IIRC) 8 inputs, I would run the bass in via a Direct Box and use any available mic input:o

Re: HDX vs Native Geek Qs/Observations

Indeed^ I track drums with Channel Strip on all tracks, but have several high-latency plugins built in, but inactive until I get to the MIX stage. Drums still sound quite good going down(my session...

Re: iLok dongle and USB-C any issues?

Uncharted territory:o Look for a hub that connects via USB-C that has USB 2 or USB 3 ports:rolleyes: If your new Mac has Thunderbolt 3, I have a new OWC dock available:o

Re: No input in IO settings. Pro tools 12

Something still seems funky here and I wish I was at your computer to solve it. But, try this:
Open Setup>IO>Input tab
Add a new path(or 2) and see if you can link(with the grid by adding...

Re: recover my song in 2018

If you were in the original session and went File>Save Session Copy, the next window would have a checkbox to include audio files. Could you have missed that? Is there an original version of the...

Re: Euphonix vs Avid branded hardware in PT?

All the same stuff. Older Euphonix hardware might require a firmware update for newer Pro Tools use:o The silver faceplates are interchangeable.

Re: Will this HP Pavilion run PT2018?

Hopefully, someone knows if that PC will work. Store-bought PC's(especially laptops) are a crapshoot for Pro Tools. What about a used or refurbed MBP?

Re: Editing on another computer

Should be no issues doing this. You might do a little fussing with IO since the MBP will(I assume) use CORE audio, but, that might be less of a bother if you go into the IO setup page>Output tab and...

Re: Buying a Monitor (Screen)

Is the 42" a 1080P or a 720 resolution? I like(and use) 27" screens, but they are a lot closer to my face than the C24 will allow(and, if you go with more than 1920x1080 resolution, things are going...

Re: Are we due an update anytime soon?

Unless you have a known problem, I would not worry about updates. I also would NEVER jump on any update without doing 2 things:
#1-let others blaze the trail and watch the DUC to see how it...

Re: Pro Tools 12.7 crashes when try load a song

Open Pro Tools without opening a session. Then go to Setup>Hardware and see if the Mbox is the selected "audio engine". If it IS, then its probably not a driver issue. If its NOT selected, select it,...
