firewire drive partition doesn\'t mount

i have this firewire drive 120 Giga, 3 partitions each 40 giga. i had to copy some sessions from a client, took the drive to his studio, where the guy copied the session and UNPLUGGED the drive...

i had a similar setup, if i recall correctly:
Mac Slot 1: Host Card
Mac Slot 2: SCSI Card (3940)
MacSlot 3: 2nd video card

all the DigiStuff in the Expansion Chassis.
First Mix, then Farms,...

i might just don't get it, but why would u use Direct I/O. I use DAE setting with various interfaces, without any problems.

finally i am using firewire, hey works for me...

Sampelcell (cards) are fine and timing is ok, it is just that the interface seems to be from stoneage. not very fast and not convenient.

EXs is ok with logic, but also not a very smooth interface....

chances are that you have a lot more RAM in your G4. RAM is checked at every start up.
to disable RAM-Check on startup open the Memory Controlpanel while holding the command and option keys.

dumped my mtp av's for the usb-emagic interfaces. works great and midi-timing has been greatly improved.

had a similar problem, using stealth port and mtp's, mtp av and mtp2.
bought the emagic interfaces (usb) and all runs fine.

check input settings. if you have set your sync set to digital you need a clock source. try internal or just switch to analog input
