Re: Recognise the sound of this glitch? (003 recording issue)

I have similar issues on my 002r. It starts with the same sound that was heard on the audio clip you linked to, then the input level gradually lowers and sometimes goes to zero. Sometimes pushing...

Thumbs down Re: Is it worth upgrading from PT9 for non HD Users

Only you can really decide this based on your needs and your clients needs. For me, as a non-HD user, I cross-graded to PT9 last August and felt it was worth it, although I sat on it and thought...

Thumbs down Re: Why do we have to pay Avid to stop being mediocre?

Exactly, and that's what upsets me as well.

1) they JUST came out with 9 and charge us $249.00 to "Cross-grade" (as if I was using Sonar, Cubase or something), in the end I figured the features...

Re: worst marketing decision ever

I agree. When I first heard about PT10 I thought, "awesome!" But, then I saw it would cost me to $299.00 to upgrade???? I just cross-graded from PT8 to 9 in August and that cost me $249.00. I...

Re: Sounds (*Includes iTunes) thru a 003

anything needing sound using the core audio and my 002r has always been problematic. Sometimes it works great and sometimes it doesn't and I need to restart.

On the other hand, my...

Re: Still on PT 7.4

I agree that the feature set with the CPT2 is great, but I was referring solely to PT9. Or are you saying it's worth it when coupled with the CPT2? Because now you're saying it's worth spending...

Re: Still on PT 7.4

I've never really had an issue regarding latency with the plug-ins I'm using.

Re: Still on PT 7.4

I'm on 8.0.5 with a Music Prod. 2. I use it for professional purposes, but I'm still not completely convinced it's worth it.

While I know it completely depends on my situation, still if anyone...

Re: Track Solo Issue Still Exists in 8.0.5

I have the same problem on 8.0.5, which I thought would have been solved. When I read through the release notes, I didn't actually see it as a fix.

Regardless, the issue is still there; but,...

Re: Mic'ing the Snare

After I listened to the first youtube link, the above quote was the first thing I thought of and I'm glad Dr. Ford mentioned it - although he didn't say that's what's happening in this example's...

Re: Track solo issue 8.0.4

Nor did I see this fix in the latest update: 8.0.5; unless I missed it.

On a side note, anyone experience the bizarre midi issue whereby if you begin playback anywhere other than on the beat (in...

Re: How do YOU use beat detective

use the collection mode and only collect the hits for the kick, snare and toms (when applicable)

Kenny Gioia has a great vid on this - Beat Detective - Collection Mode

Re: elastic audio issue with drums

Sorry, but the recording is completely phase coherent! My question was regarding elastic audio introducing phase issues, not how to record a drum kit!!

Re: elastic audio issue with drums

In the preferences>processing>TC/E = Time Shift; Factory Default
and for Elastic Audio>Default Plug-in = Rhythmic

I probably need to upgrade to a better time stretching plug-in. :(

Re: Live Recording - Revisited

- rent a splitter to avoid conflicts with the board

- maybe rent a 2 channel preamp with spdif to extend to 18 channels of input and use this for the room / audience mics.

- make sure that the...

Volume automation issue

Anyone have this problem?

I'm on 8.0.3, but also experienced this in 8.0.4.

I'll write in volume automation and press play where a few different anomalies occur, though not all the time:
