17/18 are now all the way up, I plugged my jacks into outputs 7/8 and made the software return 7 and 8 for channels 17/18.
then i went to the router and made analog out 7/8 to mixer out and no sound...

And yes my iMac does have 2 FireWire 400 ports and 1 FireWire 800 port.

This is the exact problem I have. The only difference is I don't have Vinenna Instruments plug ins, so none of that can be my problem. I have tried everything! Someone, please help!

I don't think its the hard drive to be honest, because I experianced these problems before I had an external hard drive. I think it is Pro Tools.
Its really annoying because I hoped that Digidesign...

Yeah I have been on that troubleshooting page and I have tried a lot of it. One of the only things I haven't tried is re-installing Pro Tools.
Also a lot of troubleshooting is about plug ins, but...

I was experiancing these problems in 8.0.3, that's why I upgraded hoping it would sort it out!

And I am still running 10.5.8 but I may upgrade to 10.6.4
