FYI PT 2024.3 not compatible with InstaChord 1.3.2

Just to let you know - I had a problem with launching PT 2024.3 right after its installation. After an hour of investigation I've managed to nail the problem. It looked like PT crashes during the...

Re: Timecode audio file synchronization

Ok, I've found an app suitable to do it - LTConvert. I've got a problem with it however - after converting a file (ie printing a new timecode into it) the old timecode shows up in Pro Tools. When I...

Timecode audio file synchronization

Hi,
The scenario is like that - I have a video file which has a timecode in it so I can just spot it to a relevant position (no sound in it). I have 2 audio files (one with a dialog, second with the...

Re: 0dBFS - really?

Thanks for your answers! My questions are rather provocative, they are not moaning, I’m just interested :-)

-23LUFS is for TV here in Poland, radio stations take 0dBFS spots. I’ve been working at...

Re: 0dBFS - really?

Yes! I meant it! But I thought it can be something max 1dB. I also master radio commercials to -1. But considering my observations with the 4-5dB it seems this is something else…

Re: 0dBFS - really?

I remember the time when recording to DAT and I know the glitches ;-). Thanks for your input but this doesn’t answer my question, however

0dBFS - really?

It’s theoretical but also a practical question, well, a set of questions.

I mix 2 tracks and sometimes the sum (on a master track/fader) shows the signal goes beyond 0dBFS. Ok. So when you bounce...

Re: 2023.9 Drag'n drop stereo file results in 2 mono tracks

Thanks for your input. I ask for something else however. Prior to 2023.9 you could drop a file to the mentioned area and it created a stereo track. Now it doesn’t (well, I’ve written about it in my...

Re: 2023.9 Drag'n drop stereo file results in 2 mono tracks

No, just plain mp3 or wav. As I said, this was not present in 2023.6.

2023.9 Drag'n drop stereo file results in 2 mono tracks

It occured after updating to 2023.9. This is new in 2023.9, never seen it before, haven't touched any setting since the updating from 2023.6. From desktop or clips. Is it a bug or a new feature which...

Re: 2x NVMe SSDs on Mac Studio M1 Max

No problem! You are right with not mixing busses but with M1 Macs this can be more tricky. If you dig deep you can know that when you connect a DisplayPort monitor to (probably) second TB port on the...

Re: 2x NVMe SSDs on Mac Studio M1 Max

Please read my original post. I get the 2600-2700 speed which IS the TB3-4 data speed (as stated somewhere else - the rest is reserved for Video stream) in the mentioned enclosure.

Re: 2x NVMe SSDs on Mac Studio M1 Max

Do I understand it correctly? You have the UAD in a sonnettech chassis connected to one Mac M1 TB port and two Orico enclosures connected to the next Mac TB ports?

Re: M2 mac advise request

I’ve ended up with a second hand Mac Studio M1, the base model + an NVMe 40gbps enclosure stuffed with a 3000/3000 ssd from Lexar ;-) 2TB with the real 2800/2800 speed is enough for my sample library...

Re: M2 Mac Studio - base specification with 512GB

I don’t agree with that. I’ve been doing this for years succesfuly. This is not that easy to achieve a clean system as many installers don’t allow to change the default location but it’s doable. Some...
