Just off the question about compatability. I try to avoid the old 882 16bit units that have the external PSUs. Once that PSU goes you've had it. They are a nightmare to get hold of.

Or, if you put the mix farm under the video card, then the d24, then the dsp farm, you'll get a 64 track engine and 3 Y cables would give you 48 I/Os.

Timeline insertion I've come across, though I'm not 100% on what you mean by on command focus. Tried the timeline insertion but still only plays from the session start. Just noticed...
