Re: What sound-cards are you using w/PT Free?

PT Free works with Sound Manager compatible cards, that is the Mac OS way to handle stereo audio. Normally you will use built-in sound in and out. Other options are cards and USB devices that have...

Re: 7500/100 - DAE freeze

run PT Free on a 7500 with a Sonnet 375/512 G3 Upgrade, 256 MB RAM, 3 harddrives and dual monitors. This machine is great for PT, especially with its 50 Mhz system bus, as opposed to the 7600's 40....

Re: Pro Tools Free and the ibook

I recently found out that Edirol has a new device out called the UA-20 that uses USB for both audio in & out, and MIDI in & out. That looks like a very good alternative to the Tascam US-224, since...

Re: Adding a Menu Command (RES EDIT)

I've never tried anything like this, but i can understand why Digidesign would protect their product. PTF may be free, but it's a stripped down version of an expensive and state-of-the-art app. I for...

Re: Get MIDI to work!

First of all, check in OMS Studio Setup if the MU50 is setup to receive MIDI, and on which channel(s). Then check if your keyboard controller is set to receive MIDI. I don't know if this is just a...

Re: 9128 (one million dollars (j/K) to who ever can figure this

Since you stated that you own Norton: run Norton Speed Disk to resolve the disk fragmentation issue. What is the name of the wireless USB-system you are using?

Re: New to PT Free

You need a PowerBook with sound-in, so any PowerBook will do, as long as it's not an IBook or Titanium. PTF uses the Macitosh Sound Manager, which is stereo, so two tracks should be no problem.

Re: Pro Tools Free and the ibook

I use an iBook 466 SE with 10GB/320 MB, and it workst great, although Digidesign is recommending against it on account of screen resolution (only 800x600). Audio In is a problem, the best solution I...
