Re: 2019.5 and CPU Usage

Similar experience here. When working really fast on a moderately heavy 5.1 video project I will get occasional audio or video errors while working at 64. Upping it even to 256 eliminates all issues....

Re: Playback stops when editing in playlist view

I've seen this behavior off and on going back through several updates, probably even as far back as PT11. Problem is it doesn't show up in every project, and I've never taken the time to pull plugins...

Re: automatic loudness correction that can handle split stems too?

Yeah, from a practical standpoint this is the only thing that makes sense to me. In many situations both the FX and Music stems may be very, very light, and would have to be cranked up to ridiculous...

Re: HDX vs Native

Hmm, that is weird. I think the tolerance for latency is somewhat of an individual thing, too. I'm old enough to remember doing everything through analog boards and multi-track recorders, long before...

Re: HDX vs Native

Avid Omni here, and even with no plugins whatsoever I can't tolerably work above 64. I'm curious to see if I can take advantage of the new low latency options to get to zero latency while maintaining...

Re: HDX vs Native

That's really interesting to me, because with my native system I find anything above 64 to be completely annoying. 128 is noticeably phasey, and at 256 we're talking distinct echo. Do most people...

Re: 2019.5 audio suite broken.

I rendered at least 100 AS clips today, so there must be something else going on.

Re: 2019.8

Yeah, after using this in Logic a couple of times, I'd have to move it way up on the list. Just under clip bins.

Re: I love the new CTRL+ALT+, shortcut

Agreed. From my earliest forays into Pro Tools I've been baffled that this often-needed function had no key command.

If you've got Kontakt and want to get fairly serious about guiro programming, check this out:

Re: Free gift from Avid: Accusonus Voice Leveler

I got mine a few days after it was announced, and have to say I'm with those who are underwhelmed thus far. When pushed hard enough to actually do anything, it gets really aggressive. MV2 is much...

Re: ARA now available! in Reaper...

Had the pleasure of using ARA in Logic for the first time recently. Agreed, this is something Avid needs to implement tout suite.

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

Really? How? Option-clicking still just turns the slot on and off here. (Wrong forum, I know :o)

Re: external session drive for mac/ what format do you prefer?

I had to replace the guts of my workstation last summer and do a complete install from scratch, and that must have been when I upgraded to MacDrive 10. Guess that was just after they got it together.

Re: external session drive for mac/ what format do you prefer?

Hmm, I use MacDrive 10 in Windows 10, and being cross-platform, I plug Mac drives into my PC with regularity without trouble. Curious as to what your issue was.

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

I still greatly prefer Logic for MIDI, and Quick Swipe comping and the automation curves are very cool. Other than that, I prefer absolutely everything about the Pro Tools layout, look, routing...

Re: Shortcut for "Cut Time"

I find Cut Time to often be the best method for editing, so I understand the need. I've found that if you open the Time Operations window with its key command (alt+1 on Windows) and, after changing...

Re: move multiple faders at once without having to group them first

Right, but in Logic you can instantly create momentary groups just by selecting channels.

Re: move multiple faders at once without having to group them first

I must agree. I can count on one hand the things I think Logic does better than PT, but this is one of them.

Re: AAF from Premiere works! (sorta)

I've had AA Translator since its inception, since I had been a long time SAWStudio user and this program was the only one that could do conversions for that non-mainstream DAW. My issue isn't with...

Re: AAF from Premiere works! (sorta)

Thanks. It's very helpful to have a better understanding of the inner workings of PP.

Re: AAF from Premiere works! (sorta)

Thanks. So it would seem that the normal modes of volume manipulation in PP shouldn't cause any timing issues in PT. Does PP have some sort of fade option independent of volume automation? I do get...

Re: AAF from Premiere works! (sorta)

Interesting. And yet I've gotten many other PP AAF's that included slo-mo fx without it affecting the sync. I don't know the inner workings of PP at all, but I can only assume there are multiple ways...

Re: AAF from Premiere works! (sorta)

Definitely some slow-mo segments in the video. Can slow-mo in PP cause audio displacement, even if it plays back at the proper speed?
