i would also recommend Line6 gearbox plugin if you already own a newer pod or guitarport. cpu wise it has outperformed guitarrig and eleven. soundwise - thats just personal taste i guess... i think...

Check out the osx console (utilities -> console) and try to reopen protools. It should tell you whats going on. did you by accident install the 10.4.10 Update? I did it and my protools 7.3.1 would...

No there was no subwoofer attached to the yamahas. yes there was a mixer involved - but the eq was flat. we checked this... but both bm5 and bm6 sounded like this.
