Take a track, guitars for example. Copy it to an empty track. Time align them, and then nudge one of them 1 sample while listening to playback. If you can't hear that you probably should be working...

A stereo Track Counts As two Tracks. So In PTLE Sixteen Stereo Tracks, 32 Mono, or any combination of Both. Use Rewire and Abelton Live for additional tracks if needed as a workaround.

Low Buffer Size/Multi-Processor Issues with Pro Tools 7 on Mac OS X

There is a known issue with low hardware buffer sizes and the multiprocessor RTAS engine of Pro Tools 7 (HD, LE, and M-Powered)....
